Left and Right Brained
Markel graduated at the top of his class from the Computer Career Insttitue in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He went on to enjoy a lucrative IT career as a consultant, working with various corporations and notable companies such as Household Finance, Toyota, Universal Studios, and as the IT manager for LAANE, a non-profit company based in Downtown Los Angeles. Markel retired from IT in 2001 and went back to school to pursue a life long dream of writing and directing a feature length motion picture.
Markel graduated from the Los Angeles Film School in 2002 with a focus on directing and cinematography and a minor in both editing and sound design. In the summer of 2006 when Youtube began gaining momentum, Markel was quick to realize the potential for marketing business with video. In July of 2007 he redirected his energy into a new project by combining his IT background with his filmmaking experience and formed the company iSpots, an internet video company that ranked its clients high on Google search engine query results. Markel's forsight had pioneered what is now an immerging field.
Today Markel is exercising every creative bone in his body and finely tuned technical skills, to not only continue offering a comprehensive web presence for his clients, but to fullfill his dreams of storytelling through music and film. He's currently writing a screenplay and working on the release of his first album. Markel's story has yet to hit its crescendo but he is closer now to his goals than ever before. A testiment to his relentless passion, perseverence, hard work and unwillingness to give in.
